Safe Use of Lawnmowers—AAP joins other medical organizations to offer Tips to Prevent Injuries to children from use of lawnmowers. Each year, about 16,000 children are injured in accidents involving use of these machines.

Test Well Water for Safety—AAP recommends annual testing of drinking water from private wells. In a new policy statement dated May 26, 2009, “Drinking Water From Private Wells and Risks to Children,” and accompanying technical report, the AAP offers recommendations for inspection, testing and remediation for wells providing drinking water for children.
